When We Won WWII?

Tell Us Your Story!

Your World War II story is treasure!

Share your end-of-war story or other WWII story today (or a WWII story from your parents, grandparents, other relatives, or older friends). Younger Americans need to hear it.

We may publish your story (and any pictures you send) in America in WWII magazine. We will also share it with the nonprofit organization Keep the Spirit of ’45 Alive, for possible inclusion in an online treasury of WWII stories.

It’s easy to tell your story!

1. Click on the “Send a WWII Story” link below.

2. Type your story in your own words, in 500 words or less.

3. If you are submitting for someone else, please include your own name and contact information, and your relationship to the person the story is about.

4. Attach a scanned WWII photo of yourself, if possible. Ask a young person for help! Ideally, the scan should be 1500 x 2100 pixels or larger.

5. Include the following items:

• your name
• your WWII unit or ship
• your highest wartime rank
• your wartime hometown
• the town and state where you live now (give us your mailing address and we’ll send you a copy of our magazine if we publish your story)

6. Click “Send” on the e-mail’s menu bar.
